Summer Days….

Well, we’re coming to the end of another summer - and as always, it feels a bit melancholy. This summer in particular has felt very amorphous, and with none of the usual benchmarks for end of the semester/summer lessons, it’s hard to believe we are supposed to go “back to normal” in just a few weeks. Since we all have transitioned into this new way of life, in a COVID world, it’s hard to even remember what it was like before. And yet, life continues. Trying to get that back-to-school energy, and preparing for a new year of voice lessons, I am faced with a very different looking studio from a year ago…and I know you are facing the same thing in your life.

So, what do we do? Well, for me, the temporary changes I made to shift the studio online in March have now become semi-permanent. In all honesty, I enjoy the online instruction model, and as I’ve said in other places, it will remain a vital part of my toolbox going forward, even post COVID-19. The opportunity for connection in the midst of isolation is too important, and I am deeply grateful to have the ability to connect with all of my clients even when we are unable to be in the same physical space. So I have made my online offerings even more robust - we are making music regardless of where we are, and that is exciting! We will continue to prepare for RCM exams, as we always have, and we will also prepare for in-studio virtual recitals. You can connect with me in the Studio via Zoom on a weekly basis, and we will work together to achieve whatever your musical goals are.

Because I truly believe, we must continue to make art. To create. To sing. The skills you acquire during this time will only enhance your capacity when we are finally allowed to sing together once more. So I’m here, and I’m ready to support you in whatever your singing needs are - and I can’t wait to see you!
