HOW do you learn a song for your singing lesson

There’s a method!

Isolate the melody of your song

Learn those notes! Gotta learn the melody before you can rock out!

Play YOUR line with the backing track

Now you need to hear your line against the backing track - get your teacher to play it on a recording if you don’t have a piano!

Play AND sing your line together

Either with the recording your teacher made you or on your own piano [withOUT accomp!]

Now sing your melody WITH the track

but without your line being played!

Repeat these steps in practice and your singing lesson

As many times as necessary to solidify your line!
