What in the HECK is a trigger word? Isn’t that a bad thing?
Well, context is everything, so in this context, no. Trigger just means that we’re using this word to get us to a feeling or emotion fast - like a shortcut!

HOW do you connect with your song - and communicate it to your audience?
Go through your entire piece. Find where the emotion naturally changes. Section it out by drawing an asterisk or a line.
Figure out ONE overarching word, feeling, emotion that encompasses the section. Write it at the top in big bold letters!
Now you practice, before your singing lesson, using the trigger word as your focus. Think ONLY about that word as you sing the lyrics.
Now you need to focus on getting really clear on what that words means and projecting that feeling into your section.
